Water Boys

My friend, Georgia, asked me to write about a band that she is interested about, the Waterboys. The Waterboys are a folk rock band which consisst of Mike Scott, Steve Wickham, Ralph Salmins and Paul Brown. The bands origins are from United Kingdom and from Ireland.

The early Waterboys  sound was dubbed "The Big Music" after a song on their second album, A Pagan Place. This style was described by Scott as "a metaphor for seeing God's signature in the world.

One of their most populars songs of them, that I found, is the "Pagan Place".

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Today we are going to talk about one of the most popular rock bands, Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band consists of founding members vocalist Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea, longtime drummer Chad Smith, and former touring guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the best-selling bands of all time with over 80 million records sold worldwide, have been nominated  for sixteen Grammy Awards, of which they have won six, and are the most successful band in alternative rock radio history.

Two of their most popular songs are 'Californication', from the album 'Californication', and the song 'Can't stop ' from the album 'By the Way'.

The Black Keys

So,today we are going to talk about a rock American band, The Black Keys. The group consists of  Dan  Auerbach, the guitarist and vocalist and Patrick Carney, the drummer. The two of them began as an independent act, recording music in basements and self-producing their records, before they eventually emerged as one of the most popular garage rock artist during a second wave of the genre's revival in the 2010s.

Friends since childhood, Auerbach and Carney founded the group after dropping out of college. After singing with indie label Alive, they released their debut album, The Big Come Up (2002), which earned them a new deal with Fat Possum Records.

Two of their most popular songs are 'Lonely Boy' from 'El Camino' and 'Weight of Love', from 'Turn Blue'.

Nirvana

So today, we are going to talk about a very popular band, Nirvana. Nirvana was a rock band formed by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic. Nirvana went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting being Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990.

During its initial months, the band went through a series of names, starting with Skid Row and including Pen Cap Chew, Bliss, and Ted Ed Fred. The group finally settled on Nirvana, which Cobain said was chosen because "I wanted a name that was kind of beautiful or nice and pretty instead of a mean, raunchy punk name like the Angry Samoans."

Kurt Cobain was an American musician,artist,songwriter,guitarist and poet. After signing with major label DGC Records, the band found breakthrough success with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from their second album Nevermind (1991).

Their most popular album is called "Nevermind".Two of their most popular songs of them are "Smells like a teen spirit" and "Come as you are".

Arctic Monkeys

I think that this post is dedicated to my sister,Jo! Arctic Monkeys is an English rock band, which consists of Alex Turner, the lead vocalist and rhythm/lead guitarist, Matt Helders ,the drummer and vocalist, Jamie Cook, the lead/rhythm guitarist and Nick O'Malley, the bassist,backing vocalist.

One of their most popular album is called "AM" and I think that is inspired by their name.

Their logo is a white line and the backround is black,which looks like a cardiogram.When my sister uploaded the logo in facebook, I didn't knew that it was Arctic Monkey's logo.

Two of their most popular songs from the album "AM" are "Do I wanna know?" and "R U MINE?".

And now, as always, I want you to go and listen to one of my favorite songs of them, No1 Party Anthem.

Green Day

The second band that we are going to see,and again one of my favorites, is called Green Day. I think that most of you know them and, if you don't, go listen to their songs! Green Day is a punk rock and alternative band wich consists of Bill Joe Armstrong, the lead vocalist and guitarist, the bassist, Mike Dirnt, and the drumme,  John Kiffmeyer. Their first name was Sweet Children but now the name is officialy Green Day.

The band has released 12 studio albums,two live albums, four compilation albums,one soundtrack album,four video ambums,10 extended plays,four box sets,40 singles,ten promotional singles and 39 music videos.

American Idiot is the seventh album, which was released in September 20,2004 in the US by Reprise Records.It marked a career comeback for Green Day following a period of decreased success.It charted in 27 countries,peaking at number one in 19,and eventually sold 15 million copies worlwide.

The album has got five succesful singles:"American Idiot","Boulevard of Broken Dreams","Holiday","Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "Jesus Of Suburbia".

Twenty One Pilots

Today we are starting with the first band in the blog and my favorite one, Twenty One Pilots.

Twenty One Pilots are an alternative rock and rap band which consists of Tyler Joseph, the singer, and Josh Dun the drummer. They are both Americans,from Columbus,Ohio.

They have recorded 4 albums.Their last album, and my favorite, is called 'Blurryface' and all the songs are written by Tyler.

Their logo is made by Tyler too,and in an interview he said that he is very proud of it.

The name is inspired by "All my Sons" by Arthur Miller,a play about a man who must decide what is best for his family after causing the death of twenty-one pilots during World War II.

And now i want you to hear one of my favorites songs of them that is called 'Message Man'.
